CRECHE was established in 1999 by a small group of Catholic home schooling families to help support the efforts of parents as primary educators, to teach their children at home. We’ve not only grown in numbers, but have also grown in our Catholic faith, realizing that we can do all things through Christ who strengthens us. Faithful to the Catholic magisterium guided by the Pope and the bishops in union with him, we unabashedly promote home schooling as an intellectually and spiritually rewarding alternative to traditional educational methods. Open to home schooling or non-home schooling families in the Fox Valley/western suburbs of Chicago, CRECHE provides activities that encourage friendship and vibrant family life, striving to help members grow as disciples, bringing Christ to the world.

CRECHE families come together monthly to celebrate Mass on the nine 1st Fridays from September to May. All are welcome to join us for Mass at Holy Cross Catholic Church in Batavia beginning at 9:30 am.

CRECHE also meets on the third Fridays of each month for prayer, devotions and adoration time.

Activities follow in Donovan Hall on most 1st and 3rd Fridays. This year activities will focus on Art and Physical Education. On second and fourth Fridays, CRECHE offers field trips or recreational outings.

CRECHE offers family events throughout the year. These activities include celebrations of the liturgical year such as The Assumption of Mary, All Saints Day, Epiphany Sunday, and Divine Mercy Sunday. We also have an Art Faire and a Graduation Celebration.  Our family events are an opportunity for everyone to gather together as we grow in faith and have a little fun.

CRECHE High School Teens have social gatherings offered throughout the year.

For adults, CRECHE offers Parent Meetings, Mom’s Night Out, and a Mom’s Book Study.

Because CRECHE is here to support you in your Catholic homeschooling efforts, we strive to offer a variety of activities to meet the needs of our families. We encourage  members to choose activities that best fit their schedules and goals for their families.

May God bless you on your home schooling journey!
