Tri County Christian Home Educators (TCC) strives to provide educational support through field trips, opportunities for children to showcase their work and through shared experiences of the families in the group.
We will endeavor to provide social support to children through recreational activities, field trips, holiday and/or end-of-year celebrations, drama and/or other group activities that members of our group volunteer to plan and direct. We will additionally provide social support to parents through our web site and various activities and events.
Our goal is to strive to project a positive image of Jesus Christ in everything we say and do, and to all whom we come in contact. In light of this while attending a TCC event or function, students and adults alike are expected to act and dress modestly and appropriately (not wearing offensive clothing with inappropriate graphics/text, gang related colors, etc.). It is also expected that parents maintain control of their children at events or functions so to make the time an enjoyable one for all involved.

We are an inclusive homeschool co-op where the beliefs and racial, and cultural backgrounds of all members are respected. We value diverse perspectives and believe our differences enrich our world. T.E.E. Co-op provides a consistent time and place for homeschool families to learn and play together. The classes foster friendships that are given a chance to flourish through regular field trips and social events.
Classes are taught from a secular viewpoint; offering hands-on, group learning in history, science, creative writing, the arts and more. Enrichment classes are offered weekly for students ages 4-16 to complement the core academics taught at home. The classes have a classical/Charlotte Mason flavor; teaching history and science chronologically, keeping the student in touch with nature and providing a literature-rich curriculum. An annual progression through the grades will expose the student to a wide range of topics that are multi-layered in order to build on knowledge without repetition. Peer groups are separated into five main grade ranges: PreK-K, 1st-2nd, 3rd-5th, 6th-7th, and 8th-10th.
At T.E.E., students are exposed to many cultures, arts, and forms of creativity. We also strive to raise awareness in our students so they can be better stewards of our precious planet. Involvement in our local and global community is encouraged through the classes, as well as the field trips. The hope is that each student will feel “big enough” to make a difference!

TEACH is a nonprofit 501(c)3 corporation that was created with the desire to reach out to Christian families in the Tri-Cities area of East Tennessee who educate their children at home. TEACH has over 250 member families and operates co-ops in Johnson City and in Greeneville. TEACH also offers the opportunity for fellowship, friendships, field trips, activities with area homeschoolers, girl’s and boy’s high school basketball teams, and a girl’s high school volleyball team. TEACH holds a yearly graduation ceremony and has 27 graduates for 2012.
TEACH (Tri-Cities Education Association for Christian Homeschoolers) started in 2006, and the Lord has really blessed our group with growth and opportunities. After just one year of operation, we spun-off another co-op in Blountville that has become a wonderful asset to our area! In 2008, We received a $10,000 grant from the State of Tennessee which we shared with our sister TEACH group, TEACH-Blountville, who became an independent group in that year.
In 2009 we helped start another co-op in Greeneville which is going strong! We invite you to explore our website! If you would like to become a member, follow instructions at the “Request Membership” tab. If you would like to talk to someone about TEACH, see “Contact Information.” There are many great homeschool groups and co-ops in our area – each with their own unique flavor. There are links to these on our “Helpful Links” tab. We encourage you to discover your flavor or decide to taste them all!

Understand TN homeschool laws; http://www.hslda.org/laws/analysis/Tennessee.pdf
Register to homeschool; You can register with your local school or under a cover or umbrella school. Sometimes it is easier to register with an umbrella school, but do your research and make an informed decision. Do not delay in registering or you can be found truant under TN law.
Enjoy your year!! This is the only (1st grade, 5th grade etc.) year that your child will have, so make it the best ever! Don’t stress out too much about it; have a plan and good books and then enjoy your family as you teach them this year!
We exist to glorify God first in all that we say and do. Our goal is to equip all new homeschooling families with any information needed, provide activities for our kids to interact with one another and encourage and support each other as we travel through this homeschooling journey together.
“Therefore encourage one another and build each other up, just as in fact you are doing.” I Thessalonians 5:11
