The Learning Tree Homeschool Group

OUR MISSION

We are pleased that you have an interest in The Learning Tree Homeschool Group. This group provides homeschooling families with Christian based enrichment and supplemental classes in a group setting. All home schooling families are welcome.

Field Trips

Each session we offer a variety of field trips for our students and their families. Whether is a tour of the State House, an exhibit at a local museum, a hands-on experience in science, a local production of a play, or a visit to one of the many local parks, our field trips add additional enrichment experiences and a lot of fun!

Talent Show and Showcase

Each session we organize a talent show for our students share their many talents and an end-of-session Showcase event that highlights what our students have accomplished during the session. These evening events are fun for the whole family and a great chance to include family and friends in the homeschool experience. For our teens, we provide an opportunity to hang out and enjoy time with each other outside of the classroom each month with a variety of Friday night activities. From bowling to pizza parties to pumpkin patches to game nights, our teens love getting together to just hang out! Each Spring, we host a Spring Formal Dance. We rent a facility, teach our teens some of the basics of ballroom dancing, then dance the night away! Its a fun filled event for our older students and a great chance dress up, socialize, and create some great memories.

OUR SCHEDULE

Classes are offered during two separate 10-week semesters. In the fall semester, classes begin in September. In the winter/spring semester, classes begin in late February. You can choose to attend one or both semesters.

OUR LOCATION

The Group meets on Thursdays from 9:00 AM to 2:30 PM at Reynoldsburg Church of the Nazarene, 1340 Crest Road, in Reynoldsburg.

OUR MEMBERS

The Learning Tree Group is run by families that participate. Each family plays an important role in its operation. The group depends on our members to volunteer each semester. To provide a varied range of classes for each grade level/age group, the co-op needs approximately 15-20 teachers to teach one or more classes. If you are not teaching you are required to volunteer in some capacity each week. Volunteer positions include: classroom helper, hall monitor, nursery helper, cleaning person, gathering room monitor, and floats who fill in positions as needed. There is a board that facilitates the process of the group. As you can see, with the help of all families we can accomplish the tasks necessary to run the group successfully. We are excited to have you as a part of our home school group family!

SEICHE – SouthEastern Indiana Christian Home Educators

Founded in 2003, SEICHE was founded to provide support and encouragement to Christian homeschooling families. We define home education as parent-directed, home-based, privately funded discipleship. Due to consistent growth and the changing needs of our members, in 2012 SEICHE separated into two separate organizations – the SEICHE Support Group and the SEICHE Co-op. SEICHE Support Group and SEICHE Co-op have separate contact information and leadership teams to help answer your questions. As sister organizations with similar missions, we share a website and a statement of faith.

SEICHE is for families who home educate. We define home education as parent-directed, home-based, privately-funded discipleship.

P.I.E. Partners In Education

We are a spirit-led Christ-centered community that provides a variety of educational and enrichment classes for home schooling families in a safe and loving environment.

“Yes, there are many parts, but only one body. The eye can never say to the hand, ’I don’t need you.” The head can’t say to the feet, ’I don’t need you.” In fact, some of the parts that seem weakest and least important are really the most necessary. And the parts we regard as less honorable are those we clothe with the greatest care. So we carefully protect from the eyes of others those parts that should not be seen, while other parts do not require this special care. So God has put the body together in such a way that extra honor and care are given to those parts that have less dignity. This makes for harmony among the members, so that all the members care for each other equally.” 1 Corinthians 12:20-25

Our parents work together using their gifts, teaching, helping, supporting and encouraging one another and their students, to form a safe, secure environment for our families to learn and grow. So take a minute and look around a bit on this website and get to know us. Please let us know if we can be of any further assistance!

Home Instructed Students

Welcome to H.I.S.

Home Instructed Students is a group of Christian home educators from various Ohio Counties. We provide support to any family interested or involved in teaching their children at home. We do this in two ways: 1) by organizing activities for students and parents as needed, and 2) by providing a network for sharing in order to aid and encourage each family in their home education efforts.

Currently our activities include monthly newletters, field trips, adult education meetings, family and children’s socials, bowling, and ‘Mom’s Night Out.’ Not every family participates in every activity, of course, and we try to remain flexible in our planning. We are sensitive to the various needs and schedules of HIS families and do our best to accommodate through providing a wide variety of activities. We encourage all families to participate as much as possible, to be a blessing and help to others, and to receive the same blessing and help for themselves.

It’s that time of year again! Time to be thinking about the upcoming new school year. To that end, the H.I.S. Kick-Off Picnic will be held on at Union Station. The picnic starts at 6:00pm. Paper products as well as drinks will be provided. We ask that families bring a main dish and a side dish or dessert to complete the meal. Feel free to invite anyone who is or is considering home schooling. All are welcome.

Our venue for the dinner will be Bellefontaine’s newest ministry center, Union Station. This is a wonderful community outreach center. We hope that having our meal there will introduce it to the home schooling community. We will have someone there to tell us about the center and how the we can possibly help serve our community through this center. We will have computers there and helpers to help step you through the process of requesting membership on our new web site. There will be a used curriculum book sale. Both of these will be set up starting at 4:00pm.

Location: Union Station (formerly Southeastern Elementary School) at 613 Hamilton Street (intersection of Colton Ave.) in Bellefontaine, Ohio.

Darke County Christian Homeschool Co-op

WELCOME!

The Darke County Christian Homeschool Co-op is organized to provide supplemental educational support and group activities for our children. It is organized to compliment the home educators curriculum with elective classes as well as solid subjects to enhance our children’s studies in a Christian environment.

We Believe:

That the Bible is the inspired and only infallible and authoritative written Word of God (2 Timothy 3:16). In deity of our Lord Jesus Christ (Colossians 2:9), God’s only begotten Son (John 3:16), in His eternal pre-existence (John 1:1), in His virgin birth (Matthew 1:23), in His sinless life (2 Corinthians 5:21), in His vicarious and atoning death (Romans 5:8), in his bodily resurrection (Romans 4:5) and ascension (Mark 16:19) to the right hand of the Father where he reigns as King of kings and Lord of lords forever (Ephesians 1:20,21).

That the only means of being cleansed from sin and saved from eternal condemnation is through personal repentance and faith in the precious blood of Jesus Christ (Acts 4:12). That God created the universe out of nothing including the creation of mankind whom He made distinctly male and female in His own image and from whom all humanity descended (Genesis 2:1-7;1:26-27). That God has given parents the ultimate responsibility to teach their children in the training and admonition of the Lord and has given them the authority over their children (Deuteronomy 6:6-7, Proverbs 22:6, Ephesians 6:1).

Christian Home Educators of Cincinnati (CHEC)

Christian Home Educators of Cincinnati (CHEC) was founded in 1987 through the joining together of east and westside homeschool support groups to create a citywide organization.  These pioneering home-educating families responded to God’s call to assist and encourage all families who desired to incorporate their children’s academic and spiritual education directly into their family life.

Over the years, CHEC has grown to encompass a number of like-minded, geographically-based support groups located throughout the greater Cincinnati area.  Through these individual groups, as well as through the cooperative efforts between the groups, CHEC offers a wide range of support, encouragement, and activities to the Christian home-educating community in the Cincinnati area, benefiting both experienced home educators as well as those just beginning to investigate home education as a viable option for their family. Please take a few minutes to explore our site to find out more about us, home education opportunities in the Cincinnati area, and resources to encourage, inspire and challenge you in your home education adventure.

CHECCS (Christian Home Educators of Carroll)

Welcome to CHECCS!

We are the Christian Home Educators of Carroll, Columbiana, and Stark counties (Ohio). (Others outside those counties are welcome as well, if you’re willing to make the drive. We have/had members from Tuscarawas, Harrison, Jefferson, Mahoning, Trumball, etc.). Do not request membership to this site without first reading this page in its entirety!

GENERAL INFORMATION ABOUT THE CHECCS GROUP

CHECCS is a small group of conservative Christian families who educate our children at home as we feel led by God to do so. Most families traditionally home educate. However, we do have a few using on-line public e-schools. We offer co-op classes once a week in Malvern. We also schedule field trips, special events, moms nights out, summer get togethers, and more. Our constitutional purpose is to promote and facilitate Christian home education and to train and nurture our children according to Biblical guidelines. During the traditional school year, we have weekly co-ops (such as science, art, gym, etc.) for the children. The co-op classes vary each year. Drop-offs are not allowed — a parent is required to be in attendance with their student(s). See the Newsletter/Schedule/Forms section on the menu for a list of classes and/or a schedule of classes.

Our co-op year is divided into three sessions. The first session starts in October and goes into December. Then we break for CHRISTmas and New Year’s. Session 2 is January and February. The last session is March and April. The second session has less class offerings due to the winter weather, but allows the older students to continue to work in their classes. See the Newsletter/Schedule/Forms section on the menu for schedules of each session. We also have various field trips and events during the co-op year. During the summer months, we get together for swim days and park days a couple times each month. We also have private, “members-only” pages on this website for additional support. (Once we receive your forms and payment of all fees, then you will be able to request membership at this site to have access to the members-only area.) Our Sign Up Day for the coming co-op year is in early May each year. It is a tiered sign-up process, meaning those who are teaching classes for and leading the CHECCS group, sign up for classes first, followed by current members who are not teaching, followed by any newly joining members.

If you have missed the Sign Up Day, some teachers may take additional students past that day. If you wish to join the group after the early May Sign Up and there are no (or few) openings in the classes, then you can still join and your students may participate in gym class, field trips, and special CHECCS events. As a member, you will then have the opportunity to sign up for the following year’s co-op classes at the May Sign Up Day before any one who is not currently a member.

After this, if both parties agree that the CHECCS group is suitable for you, you will then be able to sign up for available classes. You will also need to pay our annual membership dues (currently $15 per family) and our annual building use fee (currently $25) per family. You will also need to commit to providing a weekly service to the co-op. (Some teach classes, some plan social events, but for many this service is a weekly commitment to cleaning a particular area of the co-op building.) We cannot operate the co-op without everyone’s help each week. Only after you have become a member of CHECCS by doing the aforementioned, you will be granted access to the private, members-only section of this website. Then, if you traditionally home educate, you will then need to provide a copy of your students’ letter of excuse from compulsory attendance which you will receive from your school district when you notify them of your intent to home educate. If you use an on-line public community school, you will then need to provide a copy of your student’s account information which shows the current school year as well as the student’s name. This document is due to the CHECCS Administrator by October 31st of each year (or at the time you join).

The CHECCS group is limited in size. If the group does not have any openings when you contact us, you may contact the Administrator up to twice each year to see if there are any openings. (Suggested times to do this would be around April 15 to May 1 and November 1 to December 31.)
