Home Schooling in Idaho

Home schooling — parents privately teaching their children at home — has existed in Idaho since the arrival of the first families.

The recent resurgence of home schooling here in Idaho has been fueled in large part by both the dramatic academic successes of students taught at home, as well as the broadly-recognized healthy socialization of those students. Home schooled students in Idaho have:

  • Consistently scored between the 80th and 84th percentiles on standardized academic achievement tests
  • Been better equipped to avoid dysfunctional peer influences

As a result of those tremendous liberties, home schooling in Idaho has thrived and home schooled students have excelled. We know that a child’s parents are naturally his first and best teacher. That never changes.

We are grateful that you are visiting our web site. Please take your time and look it over carefully. Whether you are just beginning to think about the option of teaching your children at home or are a veteran of the movement, we know you’ll find information here that is both helpful and encouraging.

Titus Two Women

Titus Two Class Coming January 2012

You are the heart of the home, a treasure above all others.
You are a jewel that is irreplaceable.
Your family adores you and they need you!

Is this how you feel about yourself? Do you understand your full worth or is your value based on what others say about you?

Attention “Wives and Daughters from Girls to Grandmothers”

This coming January through May 2012 we will be resuming our monthly Titus Two classes with a new series called “The Art of Homemaking”. We will receive refreshing teaching on “Setting Our House in Order” with practical skills and tips from seasoned Titus Two Women. We will be learning about our “Unique Design” as Christian women and enjoy great fellowship with a lovely afternoon tea.

This course teaches in a very workable way, the fundamental principles of success in Homemaking, the ones which are practiced by all good Home Managers. Once more, it includes the answers to many, many questions and dozens of helpful ideas which have been gleaned through eight years of research and testing from over 100,000 women from coast to coast who studied these principles and proven their value. We are delighted to say that we are offering these helpful ideas which have inspired and motivated thousands of women to become better homemakers.

One woman said, “This material on homemaking should be required for every bride, right along with the marriage license.

Another comment, “I’d give almost anything if I’ve heard this almost ten or fifteen years ago.”

Ladies, it’s not too late to learn a good thing, especially if you are young at heart.

“You are a valued citizen of the world because what you do in your home eventually effects the world. Now that’s a staggering thought isn’t it? But it’s true.
When you make a home that is strong and good, the world becomes that much stronger and better.”
Art Linkletter

“Older women likewise are to be reverent in their behavior, not malicious gossips nor enslaved to much wine, teaching what is good, so that they may encourage the young women to love their husbands, to love their children, to be sensible, pure, workers at home, kind, being subject to their own husbands, so that the word of God will not be dishonored.
Titus 2:3-5

Join us for our “Once a Month” Titus Two classes starting January 6th from 1-4pm. Be sure and RSVP Mrs. Hollinger today at holling89@aol.com or 208-304-9392

Firmly Planted / First Class Sandpoint

At Firmly Planted Family, we are passionate about homeschooling. But we’re even more passionate about following Jesus.

There are many homeschool cooperatives available to parents. Firmly Planted is a unique ministry to homeschooling families that is absolutely dedicated to the spiritual growth of it’s parents and students. At Firmly Planted Co-ops, families find academic support through parent-taught classes and a wonderful opportunity to grow in the Lord as a family through Firmly Planted’s original Bible study materials!

Each week at Firmly Planted Co-ops, we use chapel time to learn about God’s amazing love and character. Parents are encouraged to follow up on the chapel time at home using our Bible study program, “Firmly Planted”. Members receive a Firmly Planted Family Study Guide and a comprehensive workbook each semester as part of their membership.

ABOUT FIRMLY PLANTED FAMILY

FPF is a Christ-centered discipleship ministry dedicated to equipping families with resources that will encourage and equip them to study God’s Word and grow together as a family. Our mission is to see families “firmly planted” in the rich soil of God’s Word, and to see marriages and families thrive as they “send out their roots” by streams of Living Water.

Firmly Planted Homeschool Co-ops (FPHC) are dedicated to equipping homeschooling families through training children and parents in the study God’s Word. Our commitment to building strong families within an independent homeschool environment and reaching the lost with the gospel of Christ is the passion that drives us.

Firmly Planted Homeschool Co-ops are non-denominational, evangelical, para-church ministries. Firmly Planted believes in partnering with local Christian churches to accomplish its mission of equipping homeschooolingi families in God’s Word. Each FPHC co-op is designed to be a ministry of it’s sponsoring church.  The Firmly Planted Family Bible Study program was created by the Board and staff of Firmly Planted Family and is being used in families and churches around the world.

The History of Firmly Planted Family

First Class Homeschool Ministries (later named Firmly Planted Co-ops) began its first year of classes in 2000 with approximately 50 families and 200 members.

It was founded because of a felt need within the homeschool community for support and encouragement, and has grown to become a resource where members can find spiritual and practical information to assist them in their commitment to homeschooling and discipling their children.

The original co-op was a ministry of the church where Jay St. John was the Worship Pastor. With the oversight and partnership of that church, the co-op grew to over 250 members.

That co-op, which was started in Mount Vernon, Washington, is still operating today.

In 2006, the second location of First Class, First Class Clark County West, became the catalyst for the birth of the national non-profit organization that was known as First Class Homeschool Ministries.

Since that time, FCHM (now Firmly Planted) has grown to include co-ops in churches all across the United States and more recently, as far away as Canada and Germany!
