Nebraska Home Educators Network

The Western Nebraska Home Educators Network is a voluntary network that exists to support homeschooling families in Western Nebraska and Eastern Wyoming with educational opportunities and support group activities that enhance their homeschool experience.

We are an “inclusive” homeschool network. We welcome all families regardless of their religious beliefs, political views, education or parenting philosophies. We do not require our members to sign a statement of faith in order to participate.

Our primary goal is to support, encourage and educate homeschooling families. We do this in two different and very distinct ways. First is our Support Group which focuses on the family! Our Support Group offers such things as field trips, special outings, campouts, activities and most importantly support for homeschooling families. Second is our Cooperative which focuses on our child’s educational needs. Our Cooperative offers a variety of classes for all ages including classes which are difficult to teach at home such as Band, Choir, and Speech.

Membership and renewal fees and procedures:

It is our prayerful desire to be faithful stewards of the funds God entrusts to our group. Equally so, we desire to be as fair and as gracious as is possible to our member families. With that in mind, the following procedures are subject to change based upon the needs of the membership and organization as a whole and our website vendor’s fees and policies.

The fee for membership in Heartland Homeschoolers is $15.00 per year. Click here for a description of benefits membership includes. The membership year runs August 1 through July 31. Renewals are accepted beginning June 1 of each year. A renewal announcement is made on or near the beginning of June of each year and is periodically included in the Saturday announcements through July 31. An email reminder is sent out in late July to those who have not yet renewed. The deadline for renewals is August 1. A late fee of $15.00 will be added to the membership fee for renewals received after August 1 via PayPal, or postmarked after August 1. In August, an attempt is made to contact those who do not meet the renewal deadline. If no response is received, membership will lapse. After that point, families wishing to re-join may do so by clicking “Request Membership” on the public page of the website and mailing in the form and applicable membership fee and late fee. Families re-joining after January 1 will be considered “new” members for purposes of fees.

New members may join any time during the school year. Beginning January 1, the membership fee is pro-rated to $10.00 and grants membership through July 31. Effective April 15 the fee returns to $15.00, but grants membership through the remainder of the current membership year as well as the following membership year.

Please note! A limited number of scholarships are available. Please contact us if you know of a family that may benefit from a membership scholarship! We do not want the membership fee to be a hindrance to any family that could benefit from the mutual encouragement of our group.

(Please note: We ask that you read the Statement of Faith so that you understand the foundation of our group. It is not necessary that you agree with it in order to become a member.)

Lancaster Learning Link

To contact the Learning Link, e-mail lanlearnlink@gmail.com

We are excited about beginning our eleventh year of operation with the 2013-2014 school year and invite you, as junior and senior high students, to join us.

Our purpose is to be an extension of your home school by providing academics that can be difficult to do individually in a home environment. We do this by linking you with instructors who have knowledge, experience, an enthusiasm for teaching, and a dedication to applying their knowledge in a Christian context. We are not an accredited school. While we cannot award credit for high school classes taken, our teachers do provide sufficient academic instruction for your parents, the homeschooling teacher, to award you a credit for each high school class you take. This instruction is provided through seventy-five minute classes attended weekly, and by homework done throughout the week.

The Link is indeed that, a link. We offer you the opportunity to contract with teachers in areas with which you need help, more inexpensively than by hiring a tutor. (Please see our application for information on fees.) When you attend the Link, you actually contract with individual teachers; yet, there are administrative needs that need to be met in order to make the Link day run smoothly. Because of that, all parents must contribute volunteer time to assist in the smooth running of the Link.

It is our desire to continue to have as our foundation for this endeavor the wisdom of our Lord. Please join us as we encourage everyone participating to grow in knowledge, wisdom, and righteousness.
